On behalf of our Council and all Lakeland Ridges community, I want to extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends, classmates, and loved ones of the 14-year-old whose life was tragically taken in this devastating vehicle collision.
There are simply no words that can adequately express the heartbreak of losing someone so young, with so much life still ahead of them. Our thoughts are with everyone who is grieving this unimaginable loss.
I also want to recognize and sincerely thank the members of our Meductic Fire Department who responded to this tragic incident. Our firefighters are often called upon to attend the most difficult and heartbreaking scenes imaginable. They do so with professionalism, courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others in their darkest moments.
Their work extends far beyond responding to emergencies. In moments such as this, they provide assistance, comfort, dignity, and support to those affected, while carrying the emotional weight of what they have witnessed themselves.
As Mayor, I am incredibly proud of the dedication and service our firefighters provide to our community.
Today our hearts are with this young person’s family and all those who knew and loved them. May our community come together with compassion and support for one another as we mourn this heartbreaking loss.
