The Municipality of Lakeland Ridges is currently looking to fill a temporary position as below:
Job Opening: Treasurer/Assistant Clerk (Temporary Position)
When: February 3rd to April 4th
Rate of Pay: TBD
Duties Include:
-collect and receive all money of the local government.
-maintaining accurate accounts and records of the financial information in accordance to the Local Governance Act.
-timely accurate recording of all accounting transactions – purchases, payables, revenue, receivables, payroll, etc.
-ensuring accuracy and completeness of transactions in the general ledger.
-completing of monthly bank reconciliations for the payroll and general operating.
-provide accounting reports to CAO and council.
-provide other financial or accounting reports required by federal and provincial government.
– prepare and submit monthly payroll remittances.
-attend council meetings to update finances with council.
-assist in the management of municipal facilities including tracking compliance with rental agreements/user fees.
-provide backup office support to the CAO/Clerk.
Requirements:
-Background in Finance or Business Administration
-Experience with accounting, payroll, Sage accounting program and financial planning
-skills in time management, organization, and the ability to prioritize
